Job Details: Location: Albuquerque, NM 87113 • Position Type: Part Time • Salary Range: $7.08 - $7.97 hourly • Shift: Any Position Summary Provides fast, friendly, professional beverage and food services with multiple bars, and restaurants. Responsible for crafting and serving a wide variety of beverages while providing exceptional guest service, including preparing drinks, managing the bar area, handling transactions, maintaining inventory levels, and ensuring compliance with alcohol service regulations. Collaborates with a dynamic team, upholding the highest standards of professionalism and hospitality. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provides exceptional service to guests by taking orders, making recommendations, and ensuring a positive experience. Crafts and serves a wide range of beverages including cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic drinks. Serves food items as required. Prepares drinks with proper pouring portions and ingredients according to recipe, using correct jiggers and wine carafes. Presents drinks to guests or servers as required. Sets up the bar area at the beginning of the shift to include, but not limited to, stocking products and changing kegs to ensure all offerings are present, and slicing fruit used for garnish. Breaks down the bar area at closing to include, but not limited to, removal of empty cups and trash, wiping down bar tops, bottles, and bar stools. Checks equipment (ice machine, refrigerator, chillers, glass washers, draft system) and reports problems to the supervisory team. Operates and maintains all equipment and utensils as required in accordance with established guidelines and safety procedures. Maintains a clean bar and stocked workstation in accordance with established health and safety guidelines. Operates POS System, rings proper amounts into the register and gives the guest or server the correct change; accounts for all cash, charge, and complimentary sales according to established procedure. Adheres to all applicable laws and regulations governing alcohol service, including age verification and responsible beverage service practices. Refuses service to guests who appear intoxicated, and handles challenging situations with tact and diplomacy, notifying an on‑duty supervisor to follow up with the guests. Responsible for clean‑up of bar/workstation, removal of portable bar to storage area, returns unused liquor, and advises bar back or supervisor of items needed to be restocked/ordered. Completes all closing bar paperwork as required. Contacts on‑duty supervisor or manager for all register voids. Assists in the training of new team members. Ensures glassware is clean (no spots or fingerprints) and free of damage (chips or cracks). Ensures that the bar is stocked correctly. Attends pre‑shift meetings on daily specials, service issues, and promotions. Completes daily sales/cash/credit card reconciliation. Ensures all product is properly secured and stored. Ensures responsible alcohol service requirements are upheld by oneself and co‑workers, including checking all patrons for valid identification and refusing service to impaired patrons. Ensures incident documentation is completed daily. Ensures temperature logs are completed every shift, in the absence of a barback on duty. Ensures that IG cash registers are maintained for cleanliness. Represents the department positively through professional conduct and appearance. Responsible for accurately tendering and presenting checks to guests. Punctual and regular attendance is essential; report to work based upon the assigned schedule each day in accordance with the Attendance Policy for Pueblo of Sandia. Additional Responsibilities Performs other job‑related duties as assigned. In the absence of a barback or server, changes kegs in accordance with proper safety and lifting requirements. Responsible for maintenance of tables, including the ongoing removal of empty glassware and clearing of tables at closing time, with proper sanitation. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, providing personalized service and taking orders efficiently. Ability to count money/change correctly. Excellent beverage knowledge, including ingredients, proper mixing, and pouring technique with jiggers and wine carafes. Comprehensive knowledge of liquor, beer, and wine. Knowledge of alcoholic beverage preparation and delivery systems. Knowledge of bar and restaurant operations. Interpersonal skills to respond appropriately to the needs, feelings, and capabilities of others. Ability to deal effectively and professionally with the general public and to be attentive to customers’ needs. Experience with Point‑of‑Sale programs. Detail‑oriented with a strong customer service focus. Ability to follow written and oral directions given by leadership. Ability to maintain a safe work environment for oneself and others. Mines the highest standard of personal hygiene. Knowledge of basic sanitation in accordance with Indian Health Services requirements. Ability to work harmoniously with diverse team members, fostering a cooperative environment. Qualifications Education and Experience Must be at least 21 years of age. Able to stand and walk for long periods. Able to lift up to 25 lbs. Basic communication and math skills. Available to work weekends and holidays. Preferred 6 months to one year of bartending, serving or barback experience. Knowledge of basic cocktails. Point of Sale (POS) familiarity. License/Certifications/Registrations Must be able to successfully pass a stringent background investigation. Will require a pre‑employment and random drug screening. Must obtain Food Handlers certification upon hire. Must obtain and maintain a New Mexico Alcohol Server’s License prior to hire date. Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels. Kneeling: Bending legs at knee to come to a rest. Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving horizontally. Pulling: Using upper extremities to exert force to draw, haul, or tug objects in a sustained motion. Pushing: Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force to thrust forward, downward, or outward. Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. Seeing: The ability to perceive the nature of objects by the eye. Walking: Walking throughout the work area on various surfaces. Sitting, Standing, Stooping: Sustained periods of sitting, standing, or bending at the waist. Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Work is performed indoors and outdoors and is subject to weather and temperature extremes. Work hours subject to change; must be available to work required schedule which may include days, nights, weekends, holidays, split shifts, and overtime as needed. Subject to hazards which may cause personal bodily harm, diseases, cuts, bruises, burns, common cold, influenza, dust, odors and elevated noise levels.
