Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Direct Observation Unit (Telemetry) position in Urbana, IL, requiring Epic EMR experience and Level 1 Trauma background.

Details

• Medical observation unit (T6) in a hospital setting
• Day shift schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours per week
• No on-call requirements
• Six weekend shifts required per six-week schedule
• Holiday coverage required every other holiday
• Floating to similar units required

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temp license accepted)
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Minimum 1 year of relevant RN experience
• Level 1 Trauma experience within the past 6 months to 1 year required
• Epic EMR experience required
• ASN required; BSN preferred
• Fluency in English (written and verbal)
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning, implementing nursing interventions, and modifying the plan of care based on ongoing evaluation
• IV site assessment every 4 hours and IV insertion per facility policy required
• Must maintain documentation standards as evidenced by passing quarterly chart audits
• Must attend at least 5 out of 6 staff meetings per year
• Responsible for identifying and responding to changes in patient status
• Requested time off (RTO) not to exceed 7 days for the duration of the 13-week contract
• Contingent workers may not remain on continuous assignment at this health system for more than 1 year; a 6-month break in service is required before returning to any location within the system
