Veterinarian

Position Overview Part‑Time Veterinarian with predictable hours and a consistent home hospital assignment. You will work alongside a locally led care team supported by national resources, allowing you to stay clinically engaged while maintaining balance and flexibility. Equipped with X‑rays, a boarding facility, and an in‑house laboratory. Salary Overview Full‑time salary range: $160,000 – $180,000. Supportive home hospital environment backed by national resources. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive patient exams and medical work‑ups. Communicate with clients and provide education. Perform diagnostic procedures and surgery. Maintain accurate medical records. Prescribe medications and follow controlled substance protocols. Promote teamwork and staff efficiency. Collaborate with the hospital manager on weekly priorities and expectations. Evaluate and monitor daily protocols from intake to discharge. Attend daily rounds when possible to ensure high standards. Participate in practice management updates and training at all levels. Perform additional duties as assigned by management. Qualifications (Required) DVM or VMD degree from an accredited institution. Current state veterinary license. DEA registration must be obtained and maintained. 1+ years of experience in a veterinary practice. Strong diagnostic and clinical skills. Excellent surgical and dental skills. Ability to work well in a team‑oriented environment. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Commitment to providing compassionate, high‑quality veterinary care. Effective communication with medical staff and clients. Ability to manage stressful or painful situations with pets. Physical tasks may include climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Preferred Skills (Nice to Have) Advanced clinical examination and diagnostic skills. Problem‑solving abilities related to hospital management. Strong communication skills with clients and internal staff. Professionalism and receptiveness to constructive feedback. Business acumen and understanding of veterinary finance. Knowledge of ethical principles guiding patient care. Commitment to continuing education and mentoring others.
