Account Specialist

Emerson is seeking a motivated Accounts Receivable professional to join our team in Eden Prairie, MN. In this role, you will be responsible for managing an assigned portfolio of customer accounts, proactively collecting payments, resolving account issues, and fostering positive customer relationships. By partnering with customers and internal stakeholders, you will help ensure timely payment collection and contribute to the successful achievement of Accounts Receivable performance goals. In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be: Maximize collection of overdue AR within an assigned portfolio of Emerson's most strategic customers and monitor trends in delinquent accounts to prioritize collections actions Establish and maintain professional customer relationships to maximize collections effectiveness through personal interactions Contact assigned strategic customers regarding outstanding invoices to ensure timely payment and coordinate with customer to eliminate roadblocks in payment process Research disputed and non-disputed delinquent account balances and recommend accounts that need escalated collection actions with the goal of reducing past due dollars Coordinate and work closely with key Emerson personnel to resolve issues preventing or delaying payment Leverage Sales Representative relationships for assistance in managing customer behavior Participate inAR reviewmeetings with supported business units/sites Demonstrate subject matter expertise and exceptional customer service through handling incoming inquiries and resolution of complex problems Exercise limited independent judgment and discretion in handling various functional scenarios Actively participate and communicate in team-based work group Follow company practices and policies Perform clerical duties related to accounts receivable/collections May provide business unit-specific, system or software training for new hires Who You Are: You build customer relationships. Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during our annual merit review process.
