We’re looking for a Digital Branch Manager who is innovative, strategic, and passionate about shaping the library’s online presence and digital experience. If you enjoy leading complex projects, managing digital platforms and resources, and collaborating across teams to create accessible, user-friendly services, this role offers an exciting opportunity to guide the future of digital library services and make a systemwide impact on how our community connects with the library. What You’ll Do Lead the planning, development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the library’s website. Monitor site performance and promptly troubleshoot issues, coordinating resolutions with staff and external vendors. Create, curate, and manage website content that reflects the library’s brand, strategic goals, and community needs. Enhance the overall user experience, including accessibility, usability, navigation, search functionality, and mobile responsiveness. Stay current on digital best practices and monitor peer organizations for trends and innovations. Oversee and maintain the catalog discovery layer and patron authentication systems. Manage electronic resources, including subscriptions through KYVL, OCLC, and independent vendors. Coordinate vendor relationships, including contract renewals, evaluations, usage analysis, and staff training. Analyze website and resource usage data, patron feedback, and staff input to identify trends and improvement opportunities. Partner with Public Relations to promote digital services, online resources, and patron-facing tools. Collaborate with the Executive Director to shape digital strategy and align services with evolving community needs. Represent the Digital Branch as part of the library’s management structure and participate in systemwide planning, decision-making, and implementation of library initiatives. Manage the Digital Branch budget, including planning, tracking, reporting, and recommendations. Supervise and support assigned staff or teams, including hiring, coaching, scheduling, and performance management, as well as leading cross-functional projects. Qualifications Required MLS from an ALA-accredited university or equivalent level of education and experience. Minimum five (5) years of library, digital services, or technology experience. Experience with Windows and iOS operating environments and Microsoft Office products. Demonstrated knowledge of HTML. Experience with Bibliocommons (preferred). Experience with Adobe Creative Suite. Ability to utilize Google Analytics or similar analytics tools to determine trends for digital content, marketing, social media, and user experiences. Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with a variety of technical and non-technical individuals, including staff, technical representatives from other organizations, vendors, and the public. Ability to communicate effectively, verbally, and in writing. Ability to work a varied schedule, which may change on short notice, including evenings and weekends. Ability to troubleshoot software-related issues. Library reference desk experience or other library public service experience is required. Strong leadership, planning, organizational, project management, and training skills. Demonstrates initiative, creativity, and flexibility. Ability to work under minimal supervision, exercise sound judgment, and provide leadership to others. Strong customer service orientation and ability to support equitable, accessible, and welcoming digital service for all patrons. Valid driver’s license and means of transportation to fulfill job responsibilities. Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including lifting up to 30 lbs., pushing or pulling up to 100 lbs., and occasional reaching, bending, and kneeling.
