Experienced Caregiver / CNA — Hospice & Advanced Personal Care | Boone & Ames Area

Are you an experienced caregiver who brings calm, confidence, and dignity into hard moments?

Home Instead is hiring experienced Care Pros for advanced in-home care assignments supporting older adults and families during fragile seasons of care. These roles are ideal for caregivers who are comfortable with hands-on personal care, transfer safety, dementia support, hospice or comfort-focused care, and meaningful one-on-one connection.

This is not light companionship-only work. These cases need caregivers who can be steady, observant, respectful, and reliable every shift.

What You’ll Do

You may support clients with:

• Hands-on personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and hygiene.
• Bed baths and comfort-focused care.
• Repositioning and pressure relief.
• Brief care, toileting support, and incontinence care.
• Gait belt transfers and safe mobility support.
• Walker or wheelchair assistance.
• Meal preparation, snacks, hydration setup, and intake observation.
• Medication reminders or medication assistance only as directed.
• Calm companionship for clients with dementia, anxiety, fear, or end-of-life decline.
• Clear shift documentation and prompt reporting of safety concerns or changes.

What Success Looks Like

A successful Care Pro in this role:

• Shows up on time and ready.
• Reads and follows the care plan.
• Protects client dignity during personal care.
• Moves slowly and safely during transfers.
• Notices changes before they become bigger problems.
• Communicates clearly with the office.
• Collaborates well with care team
• Documents what happened during the shift.
• Builds trust with the client, family, and care team.

Schedule

We are currently hiring for 24/7 care coverage needs , including:

• Day shifts - Mornings 
• Evening shifts - 
• Overnight shifts - we need these the most! Are you a student needing to earn money while studying?  Security overnight is one of the most important things for families, but there is plenty of time when your client may be sleeping.  This is a win/win - make money while helping someone make home a possibility.  Mostly bathroom support.
• Weekend availability
• Consistent ongoing assignments when fit is strong

Current high-need areas include Boone and Ames, Iowa .

Requirements

Applicants must be comfortable with:

• Hands-on personal care.
• Dementia or cognitive-change support.
• Gait belt use and transfer safety.
• Incontinence care.
• Working around hospice or advanced illness.
• Following detailed care plans.
• Clear documentation and communication.
• Reliability for scheduled shifts.

CNA experience is helpful but not required if you have strong hands-on caregiving experience.
