Job Summary Intermountain Health seeks MRI Technologists to support our clinical team, ensuring patients receive the best care. Candidates will play a vital role in imaging, patient communication, and clinical coordination. Shift Details Full‑time (36 hours) Monday through Thursday, 4:00 pm – 2:30 am. Location St. Vincent Hospital, Billings, Montana. Responsibilities Operate a magnetic resonance scanner to obtain diagnostic images. Apply principles and physics of MRI to select appropriate imaging techniques and protocols. Receive patients, explain procedures, position patients, and perform IV puncture and contrast administration when indicated. Perform routine examinations independently. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams, documenting all interactions and ensuring safety, courtesy, and efficiency. Continuously observe and interpret equipment metrics, monitor settings, and patient status during scans. Assist in patient transfers, gurney handling, and equipment relocation as needed, ensuring physical safety and ergonomic practices. Minimum Qualifications Associate Degree or equivalent from a two‑year college or technical school. Current ARRT (R) registry. Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association. Preferred Qualifications At least one year of experience as an MRI Technologist. MRI Tech II Minimum Qualifications American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)(MR) or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers. IV Certification. Proficiency in at least three of the following: intra‑operative, cardiac, functional, breast, prostate, rectal cancer staging, advanced 3D spectroscopy, MR lymphangiography, or pediatric MRI ( Completion of at least five cases per specialty procedure with documented proficiency by a lead MRI technologist or coordinator. MRI Tech II Preferred Qualifications Three years of experience in magnetic resonance imaging. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Specialty Technologist in Training Minimum Qualifications Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers. Applicable state license. Currently attending and receiving formal training from an accredited program, or successful completion of formal training, or a licensed ARRT(R) technologist selected for cross‑training. Specialty Technologist in Training Preferred Qualifications 1–2 years of customer service or patient care experience. IV Certification. Relocation Bonus Up to $5,000 relocation bonus may be offered if applicable. Salary $38.77 – $59.82 per hour, based on experience.
