Registered Nurse - CVICU

Job Description

Job Summary:
The CVICU Registered Nurse is responsible for providing specialized critical care to adult and geriatric patients with complex cardiovascular conditions. The role involves close monitoring, medication titration, and collaborative care within a high-acuity environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor patients with advanced cardiovascular conditions, including LVADS, balloon pumps, and arterial lines.
• Administer and titrate vasoactive medications, sedation, and other critical therapies as prescribed.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary care team during rounds to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Maintain accurate documentation using Epic and ensure effective communication with physicians and team members.
• Respond promptly to patient needs, especially following procedures like AAA repairs, ensuring appropriate positioning and care.
• Adhere to safety protocols and support patient stability through vigilant observation and timely interventions.

Qualifications:

• Possess a valid GA or Compact RN license.
• Have at least 2 years of ICU experience, preferably in a cardiovascular ICU setting.
• Hold current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Demonstrate strong clinical assessment, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Be flexible to float within scope and accommodate holiday work requirements.
• Ability to work night shifts (3x12 hours from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am).
