Automotive Sales Consultant Rancho Santa Margarita Honda – Rancho Santa Margarita, CA Position Overview Rancho Santa Margarita Honda is seeking a motivated, customer-focused Automotive Sales Consultant to join our team. This full-time position is ideal for a sales professional who enjoys building relationships, delivering exceptional customer experiences, and helping clients find the right vehicle to fit their needs. As an Automotive Sales Consultant, you will guide customers through every step of the vehicle purchasing process—from the initial greeting and vehicle selection to test drives, financing introductions, and final delivery. Our goal is to provide a transparent, pressure-free buying experience that earns lifelong customers. Responsibilities Welcome customers and provide a professional, friendly, and consultative sales experience. Build rapport with customers to understand their needs, lifestyle, and budget. Demonstrate Honda vehicles through walkarounds, feature presentations, and test drives. Explain vehicle features, technology, safety systems, and ownership benefits. Guide customers through the entire sales process with honesty and transparency. Maintain accurate customer records, communications, and follow-up activities in the dealership CRM. Manage internet, phone, and showroom sales leads in a timely and professional manner. Coordinate with Finance and Delivery teams to ensure a smooth purchase and delivery experience. Build lasting customer relationships that generate repeat and referral business. Meet and exceed individual and team sales performance goals while maintaining the highest level of customer satisfaction. Qualifications Previous sales experience required; automotive sales experience is preferred but not required. Excellent communication, relationship-building, and customer service skills. Self-motivated with a positive attitude and strong work ethic. Ability to manage sales leads and maintain accurate prospect records. Comfortable learning new technology and vehicle product knowledge. Must be at least 21 years of age. Valid California driver's license with a clean driving record. California resident. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends. Compensation The Sales Consultant position has a compensation plan consisting of the following elements: Base hourly compensation of $16.90 per hour. Commission compensation based on the amount of closed vehicle sales, beginning at $150 per vehicle up to $500 per vehicle sold. Additional production bonuses may be earned based on individual and/or team performance, beginning at $25 with no fixed maximum. Additional aftermarket product commission may be earned based on the sales of selected finance and product service contract(s) and ancillary products sold.
