Job Summary:
Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) located in Springfield, Illinois. This position involves providing specialized care on a medical-surgical oncology floor with a focus on chemotherapy administration and patient support. Candidates are required to bring their Illinois nursing license on the first day of the assignment.

Job Details:

• Specialty: Medical Surgical Oncology Floor
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of relevant clinical experience required; Illinois nursing license in hand or in application process is essential.
• Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support), Chemotherapy certification (ONS/ONCC) preferred; OCN and ONS/ONCC certifications preferred.
• Clinical Skills: Administration and management of chemotherapy, IV therapy including port access and care, cytotoxic spill disposal, monitoring chemotherapy, recognizing abnormal lab values, managing side effects, patient/family education, and handling of body fluids post-chemotherapy.
• Additional Requirements: Valid Illinois nursing license, active in application process if applicable, and willingness to float as needed within scope.
• Other Conditions: The shift is scheduled for nights; candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays as required.
• Orientation: 24 hours of orientation.
