Survey TechnicianIMEG is hiring a Survey Technician in Rock Island, IL, to support our land surveying team by processing incoming information and producing final land surveying project deliverables. In this entry-level role, you'll provide office production support across survey activities while assisting office and field staff under the leadership of a Senior Survey Coordinator.Principal ResponsibilitiesProcess data using IMEG CAD standards, including evaluation of accuracy, while ensuring compliance with applicable land survey project and professional standards under the direction of your supervisor and a licensed professionalMonitor field crew's production and provide quality assuranceResearch historical maps, land records, previous surveys, and land title reportsProvide survey computations, staking/control exhibits, and survey crew instructions for construction staking and field survey projectsPrepare cadastral, existing conditions and platting from field and office data using AutoCAD Civil softwareCarry out initial QC of field deliverables according to standards and best practicesCoordinate with supervisor to ensure client-specific demands are being metAct as a field technician as requested to complete survey field workMaintain professional and productive working relationships with all clients and coworkerObserve safety and security proceduresRequired Qualifications and SkillsAssociate degree, or certificate, in Land Surveying or Engineering preferredPrior experience in the land surveying, consulting or construction industry is preferredWork to gain knowledge of survey operations, principles, and practicesKnowledge of engineering plans and construction documentsKnowledgeable of office workflow processes and problem-solving techniquesStrong computer and technical skills; AutoCAD or similar applications are a plusProficiency in technical math, geometry, and trigonometry is recommendedPossess basic oral and written communication skillsAbility to communicate with clients, coworkers and professionally represent IMEGValid driver's license with ability to be insured by IMEG carrier; must consent to a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background checkProficient in Microsoft and MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and OutlookAbility to travel with occasional overnight staysThis position is not eligible for sponsorship.IMEG puts people first—with a strong focus on career growth, work-life balance, and meaningful impact. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and stock ownership options.
