This role supports communications for a major federal healthcare technology modernization program, helping stakeholders navigate system changes, enhancements, and post-launch operations. You will develop clear, timely, and audience-focused communications that support organizational readiness and adoption. The position combines strategic communication planning with hands-on writing, editing, stakeholder engagement, and content coordination. You'll work closely with government stakeholders and internal teams to ensure messaging is accurate, consistent, and aligned with established standards. Your work will contribute to transparency and effective change management across a large, complex healthcare environment. This is a remote U.S.-based opportunity with occasional travel to VA Medical Centers for Go-Live and Post Go-Live activities.

Accountabilities:

• Develop and execute communications supporting EHR modernization, stabilization, recovery, Go-Live, and Post Go-Live operations in alignment with organizational change management strategies.
• Create, draft, edit, and manage a variety of communication products, including announcements, newsletters, talking points, briefings, FAQs, leadership messages, and executive presentations.
• Conduct stakeholder outreach and engagement to keep audiences informed about system changes, enhancements, process updates, and operational developments.
• Support communication planning for change-readiness activities, Go-Live events, and Post Go-Live operational updates.
• Coordinate communication review and approval processes with government stakeholders while maintaining communication calendars, trackers, and related documentation.
• Measure communication reach and effectiveness, analyze feedback and engagement, and recommend improvements to messaging, channels, and outreach strategies.
• Support internal team communications, meeting materials, executive-level presentations, and other communication needs as required.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure communications are accurate, timely, accessible, and consistent with established government standards and templates.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, or a related field.
• At least 4 years of professional communications or public relations experience, including developing communications for large or complex organizations.
• Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and content-development skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear and accessible messaging.
• Experience supporting healthcare, health IT, federal programs, Veterans Affairs, or EHR modernization initiatives is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with organizational change management communications, ideally within a Prosci-aligned environment, is preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.
• Working knowledge of SharePoint Online is preferred; experience with Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI is a strong advantage.
• Strong stakeholder management, organization, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and approval workflows.
• Ability to work effectively in a structured federal environment while maintaining attention to detail, consistency, and communication quality.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a favorable VA Low Risk/NACI background investigation, including required fingerprinting and e-QIP submission.
• All work must be performed within the United States using approved remote-access procedures.
• Ability and willingness to travel occasionally within the continental United States, including approximately five-day visits to VA Medical Centers supporting Go-Live and Post Go-Live activities.
