DNV Energy Systems is hiring a Project Manager Solar Independent Engineering (Distributed Generation, Residential & Storage) within ourteam. In this role, you will work on a variety of distributed generation, community solar, commercial & industrial (C&I), residential solar and solar + storage projects throughout North America. You will be exposed to the entire project life cycle, working with the biggest developers and financiers in the space with cutting edge technology. The primary functions of this role include supporting major customer accounts, performing project due diligence, managing projects, contributing to process improvements, sharing knowledge, obtaining and receiving feedback, and a bit of business development including developing proposals. Location and Schedule This role can be based out of a DNV office in the following markets: Oakland (CA), San Diego (CA), Austin (TX), Houston (TX), Portland (OR), Seattle (WA), New York City (NY), Medford (MA), or Dallas (TX), presenting a dynamic hybrid schedule where employees will at least spend three (3) days per week working from either a DNV office or client location/site. The actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors, including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. About You What Is Required Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, business, energy, or other related field is required Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in the solar industry Deft project and time management skills, including an ability to balance multiple projects under tight deadlines Fluent in Microsoft Office Solution oriented thinking skills and high integrity Understanding of energy industry technology (modules, inverters, mounting systems/trackers, balance of system, etc.) Understanding of distributed generation, community solar, and/or residential solar project development, construction, operations, or financing. Supportive, resilient, flexible and proactive team member, eager to work in a collaborative environment Proven Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) mindset and demonstrated behavior-based safety mentality Possesses a digitally curious mindset and has knowledge in AI, automation and digital tools, with demonstrated experience in continuous improvement activities. Strong written and verbal English communication skills, including ability to write clear and detailed technical reports, presentations, and emails, and to clearly communicate complex technical issues to a non-technical audience. We conduct pre-employment background and drug screenings What Is Preferred Master’s degree Some concentration of experience in at least one of the following: solar industry construction and operating contracts, solar project construction, operations/asset management, solar project design/development, module/inverter technology, energy assessment, power marketing/offtake contracting, energy storage technology and implementation, market research/policy, or in the independent engineering function Familiarity with distributed energy resources (DERs), community solar programs, and residential solar business models is a plus.
