Meat Cutter We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Meat Cutter to join our team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, providing high-quality meat products for a variety of clients including restaurants, nursing homes, colleges, and hospitals. The position is first shift, Monday through Friday, with compensation based on experience. Currently based in Falconer, NY, the location will be moving to Findley Lake, NY, in March. Maplevale Farms is a family owned business. While continuously growing, we pride ourselves on remaining family centered. Profit Sharing Paid time off Paid holidays On the job training provided employee purchasing account Christmas club Flex Spending Starting Pay $22.50 Duties/Responsibilities: Operates meat processing equipment. Uses hand tools and power equipment to cut meat to specifications. Prepares special-ordered cuts of meat for customers. Has knowledge of various cuts of meat and can identify various products Evaluates quality control and ensures workspace is kept sanitary. Ensures products comply with all U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) guidelines. Notifies manager of any problems or issues that could affect the quality of meat products sold to customers. Meets productivity, accuracy, and quality standards. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Required Skills/Abilities: Excellent communication skills and focus on customer service. Familiarity with USDA guidelines. Ability to operate band saws and other meat-cutting equipment. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to fulfill customer orders efficiently and accurately. Must have the knowledge to perform a yield test to establish pricing. Education and Experience: 2 years of experience in meat cutting, packaging, and food handling preferred. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of standing. Repetitive hand movement. Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time. Must be able to work near animal carcasses, blood, and other animal fluids. Ability to tolerate temperatures in the workspace that fluctuate between extreme cold and extreme heat. #J-18808-Ljbffr Maplevale Farms, Inc.
