Publix is seeking a General Liability Claims Assistant to support our Risk Management team at our corporate office in Lakeland, Florida. In this role, you will provide essential administrative and claims support to a team of adjusters handling both litigated and non-litigated claims, helping ensure efficiency, accuracy, and exceptional service.

What You'll Do

In this role, you will play a key part in supporting daily claims operations and assisting leadership with critical business needs. Responsibilities include:

• Provide administrative and claims support to multiple claims adjusters and leadership
• Process incoming demand packages, including scanning media and verifying files for security
• Route claim materials appropriately and upload documentation for review
• Assist with preparation of initial drafts of non-litigated settlement documents
• Support managers and supervisors with ad hoc projects, data corrections, and reporting needs
• Maintain accurate and organized documentation within internal systems

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook
• Ability to build positive working relationships with internal and external partners
• High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and completeness
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and work independently
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• At least 1 year of general office or administrative experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional education or trade school training
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills
• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and document management systems
• Experience supporting a claims or legal office environment

Year End Bonus

To reward associates for their contributions to the company for the calendar year, Publix provides a Holiday Bonus in November. In the first year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to 15 hours of pay, and in the second year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to one week's pay if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check. In subsequent years, the bonus is equal to two weeks' pay.
