In this contract role, you’ll work with a small group of five students at the elementary and middle school level, supported by two engaged teaching assistants. Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Current Mississippi SPED K-12 teaching license required
• Experience working as a special education teacher in elementary or middle settings preferred
• Strong classroom management skills and ability to tailor instruction to each student’s needs
• Passion for collaboration and a team-based approach in educational environments
• Effective communication skills with students, staff, and families

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide instruction to a self-contained class of five students, adapting lessons as necessary
• Oversee and collaborate daily with two classroom teaching assistants
• Identify and implement appropriate interventions and instructional strategies to maximize student achievement
• Track progress, develop IEP goals, and maintain thorough documentation
• Maintain a positive and structured classroom environment that encourages learning and positive behavior
• Liaise regularly with school staff and parents to support student success
• Adhere to district guidelines, school policies, and best practices in special education
