I. Role Objective

We are looking for a Structural Designer with 0–5 years of experience. This role supports our engineering and product teams with structural calculations, calculation packages, Revit drafting and modeling, and industry research for modular and industrialized construction. We want a curious problem solver who approaches problems from first principles.

II. Key Responsibilities

• Structural Analysis & Design: Analyze and design wood, light-gauge steel and steel structural systems for modular and panelized buildings, using tools such as ETABS, RISA and ClearCalcs.
• Automation & Scripting (nice to have): Write scripts and code (e.g., Python, C#, Dynamo) to automate repetitive design tasks, enforce modeling standards, and build our product platforms directly into the BIM environment.
• Revit Execution & Project Set-Up: Support the Revit environment, including project set-up, templates, family and parameter standards, complex drafting and model health.
• Calculation Packages & Documentation: Prepare calculation packages, BIM documentation and connection details under the direction of the licensed engineer of record.
• Code Research: Research building codes so that automated scripts, building and unit layouts, and structural designs meet the relevant regulations, including state factory-built housing programs and federal criteria where they apply.
• Research & Documentation: Research products, connectors and assemblies for industrialized construction, and write clear technical documentation, design guides and standard details.
• Shop Drawings & Field Support: Review shop drawings and submittals, and help factory and site teams interpret construction documents and resolve field issues.

III. Required Skills & Qualifications

• Engineering Experience: 0–5 years in structural engineering or AEC, including:
• Solid working knowledge of structural engineering principles (wood, light-gauge steel or steel framing)
• Ability to perform structural analysis by hand calculation and with software such as ETABS, SAP2000, RISA or ClearCalcs
• Familiarity with building codes and permit documentation requirements
• Excitement around modular, offsite or industrialized construction projects
• BIM Experience:
• Functional Revit experience (project set-up, drafting and family creation)
• Soft Skills: Communicates clearly in meetings and over email. We are a remote team and communicate constantly over chat.
• Education: B.S. or M.S. in Structural or Civil Engineering. EIT certification preferred; a PE license is a plus.
• Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the US.

IV. Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $69,000 – $116,000 (based on experience and depth across structural engineering and BIM).

• Location: 100% Remote, must be located in the US. Northern Idaho preferred.
