Skilled Construction Worker
Job Type: Full-Time
About the Role
We're seeking an experienced, versatile Skilled Construction Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience across multiple trades and can move confidently between framing, finishing, and demolition tasks on residential and/or commercial projects.
Responsibilities
- Perform carpentry work including framing, trim, and general woodworking tasks
- Execute demolition work safely and efficiently, including debris removal and site cleanup
- Install and finish light gauge steel framing
- Hang, tape, mud, and finish drywall to a smooth, paint-ready surface
- Prepare surfaces and apply paint/finishes to walls, trim, and other surfaces
- Install interior and exterior doors, frames, and hardware (hinges, knobs, locksets, closers)
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site
- Collaborate with other trades, subcontractors, and site supervisors
Requirements
- Proven experience in carpentry, drywall installation/finishing, and painting
- Experience with light gauge metal framing systems
- Skilled in door and hardware installation
- Comfortable operating hand and power tools (saws, drills, drywall lifts, etc.)
- Ability to read measurements accurately and work to tight tolerances
- Physical stamina for lifting, standing, climbing, and working in various conditions
- Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
- OSHA 10/30 certification a plus
- Prior construction/trade experience (specify years if you have a preference, e.g., 2+ years)
Preferred Qualifications
- Trade school certification or apprenticeship completion
- Experience working on both new construction and renovation projects
