Job Overview Director, Product Strategy – a strategic planning leadership role focused on identifying new opportunities and crafting long‑term product plans that drive value for Cox Automotive clients. This role requires engagement with customers, external partners, and cross‑functional teams to shape the company’s strategic direction. Responsibilities Collaborate with executive leaders, cross‑functional partners, and business stakeholders to craft and refine product strategies that drive company and client growth. Engage business leaders to analyze and uphold core revenue streams through alignment with foundational business strategies. Conduct market and opportunity analysis to identify new growth avenues and assess potential for new product offerings and lines of business. Perform full‐range analysis to ensure proposed opportunities align with strategy and can enhance long‑term success across technology, products, and services. Advise management on evaluation and execution of potential acquisitions, partnerships, alliances, joint ventures, or internal start‑up opportunities. Direct workstreams to assess how initiatives may impact and benefit the business, aligning strategies across Cox Automotive brands to shared outcomes. Coach product leaders to shift focus from tactical work to a strategic north star that is durable and aligned to overall business objectives. Develop and sustain deep subject‑matter expertise in the evolving auto retailing, wholesaling, ownership, and fleet maintenance landscape. Identify opportunities to consolidate or coordinate capabilities across solution sets, building consensus to shift value delivery. Turn vision and concept into actionable, feasible plans in partnership with others, turning strategic intent into execution. Core Competencies Analytical Thinking – advanced analytical skills, diagnose challenges, identify root causes, propose viable solutions using logic, intuition, and data‑driven tools. Business Acumen – understand economic, financial, and industry trends; analyze market data to identify opportunities and articulate implications. Consulting – guide internal and external clients, communicate requirements clearly, keep stakeholders informed, and foster ongoing collaboration. Financial Acumen – use financial analysis tools to assess scenarios, develop forecasting and performance models, and recommend solutions. Required Experience & Specialized Knowledge Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 10 years of experience in strategy consulting, automotive, or technology consulting. Variations such as a master’s with 8 years or a Ph.D. with 5 years are acceptable. Strong background in strategic formation: developing long‑term strategies, transforming ideas into actionable plans, and demonstrating innovative thinking. Experience with market analysis, data‑driven decision making, and performance metrics; proficiency in data analysis and modeling tools. Familiarity with advanced frameworks such as root‑cause analysis and others enabling dynamic strategy adaptation. Ability to secure resources—financial, human, and technological—to support execution of strategic initiatives. Experience facilitating workshops with cross‑functional teams (R&D, marketing, business leaders) to create product roadmaps aligned with objectives. Proven ability to lead through influence within complex, matrixed teams and deliver high‑impact presentations to C‑suite executives. Additional Requirements Travel up to 25% of the time. Compensation Base salary range: $163,400 – $272,300, potentially varying by location and candidate qualifications. Eligibility for incentive programs may apply.
