We are currently seeking a dedicated and reliable Part-Time Warehouse Associate to join our team at our Fontana, CA Distribution HUB. Matthews International is a world wide leader in casket manufacturing, providing the highest quality wood, metal and cremation caskets, as well as urns, memorial jewelry and other products to our funeral home customers. This position will be responsible for unloading and loading new caskets onto and off our vehicles. Additionally, you will be tasked with preparations for deliveries and providing valuable support in diverse warehouse activities. Your responsibilities will include unloading and loading new caskets onto and off our vehicles. Shifts are usually 6 - 7 hours. Monday - Friday. Our Warehouse Associates can expect to work approximately 25 -29 hours per week. This position will have a starting hourly pay rate of $21-hourly. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES You will be loading and unloading caskets and other memorialization products from our various production facilities. Preparing products for delivery and unloading products to be stored in our warehouse. Scanning products, pulling correct orders and maintaining a clean work environment. Additional duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred. 1+ years of previous warehouse experience required; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to work 5-6 hour shifts being on your feet, walking, pushing, pulling products. Being able to regularly push/pull up to 100 pounds. Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting. ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred. 1+ years of previous warehouse experience required; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Basic degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications. Basic analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills. Basic verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning). Basic understanding and application of mathematical concepts. Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients. Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment. Ability to work with and influence peers and management. Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting. Ability to work overtime as necessary. PHYSICAL ASPECTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk, hear and see. Regularly lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold & heat, risk of electrical shock, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
