Position Overview and Qualifications

As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be pivotal in assisting patients through both routine and critical care situations. Your responsibilities will include conducting diagnostic and therapeutic procedures while managing both invasive and noninvasive ventilation in various healthcare environments. Your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Evaluating respiratory conditions by conducting focused assessments, interpreting breath sounds and airway patency, and identifying the need for respiratory interventions.
  • Administering evidence-based therapies by delivering oxygen support, aerosolized medications, airway clearance techniques, and other treatments in emergency, critical care, and acute settings.
  • Overseeing ventilation and airways by assisting with artificial airway placements, initiating and adjusting both invasive and noninvasive ventilation, monitoring patient responses, and reacting swiftly to clinical changes or emergencies.
  • Assisting patients and the healthcare team by educating patients and their families, serving as a clinical resource, collaborating with physicians and nurses, and aiding in the stabilization of newborns during deliveries when necessary.
  • Ensuring equipment safety and maintenance by setting up, operating, and cleaning respiratory devices; guaranteeing readiness and preventive maintenance; safely transporting ventilated patients; and adhering to all infection prevention protocols.
Required Qualifications:
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
  • State certification as a Respiratory Therapist/Practitioner (RRT/RCP).
  • Certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT-State).

No travel is required for this position.

A minimum of 1 year of experience is required.
