Field Engineer (All Disciplines) Shipbuilding / Marine Engineering
Location: Pascagoula, MS | Pay Rate: $28.00 $44.25/hr | Full-Time | On-Site | $150/day Per Diem (for eligible non-local candidates)

Responsibilities




- Deliver technical support to production teams by interpreting engineering drawings and design specifications
- Serve as the primary liaison between Engineering, Project, and Production teams to drive project success
- Generate field sketches, markups, and on-the-spot engineering solutions to support construction
- Collaborate with Engineering to enhance design efficiency, constructability, and productivity
- Resolve regulatory and compliance challenges in partnership with classification societies and regulatory bodies
- Coordinate, implement, and communicate engineering changes, revisions, and field modifications
- Manage and maintain accurate as-built documentation for configuration control
- Support technical troubleshooting and assist Test & Trials teams during vessel commissioning
- Identify and solve construction issues autonomously, ensuring project timelines and quality standards are met
- Foster strong communication across multiple technical disciplines and departments
Required Skills and Experience




- Bachelor s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field (relevant shipbuilding experience considered)
- Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Knowledge of shipbuilding, marine engineering, and production processes
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and conflict resolution abilities
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment
Preferred Skills




- 2 3 years of experience supporting engineering or production in shipbuilding, marine, industrial, manufacturing, or heavy construction environments (for Field Engineer)
- 5+ years of experience with leadership/project coordination (for Lead Field Engineer/Supervisor roles)
- Experience in naval architecture, offshore fabrication, industrial production, or heavy construction engineering
