DC Quality Assurance Specialist
Your Opportunity:
The Distribution Center (DC) is looking for someone who is energized about implementing and tracking quality improvement processes. The DC Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for collaborating with stakeholders and initiating continuous quality improvement and reduction in both customer-facing and internal quality errors. This person analyzes data; conducts root-cause analysis; develops, implements and measures quality improvements; and partners with teams to ensure quality goals are achieved. The DC Quality Assurance Specialist assists with establishing quality standards, training, tools and improvement methods.
What You Will be Doing:
- Work closely with teams, DC Coordination, Inventory Management and sales agents to address and resolve quality issues related to DC
- Gain a firm understanding and knowledge of all processes in the DC in order to assist and train on quality processes
- Participate in monthly DC Quality meeting; prepare and present quality data to drive process improvement discussions
- Develop methods to track and measure quality improvements
- Develop quality assurance standards and process documentation; train associates on quality standards and deficiencies impacting quality goals
- Oversee, train and perform random daily quality checks; establish best practices for data collection and corrective action
- Analyze data, research quality errors and conduct root-cause analyses; recommend new or improved quality control methods or procedures
- Recommend and implement measures to improve methods, equipment performance, and quality processes
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of DC processes and quality to improve existing operations
- Work with teams to accomplish quality goals with a positive attitude, strong commitment and by clearly communicating quality expectations
- Provide immediate feedback for corrective action; work with associates and team leaders to address training and/or process issues
- Participate in special projects as requested.
- Ensure customer and DC quality standards are met
- Maintain a positive work environment and interaction with all associates
- Other duties as assigned
What You Will Need:
- Demonstrated passion for continuous improvement
- Willingness to learn DC processes and technical skills required
- Six sigma Green Belt certified or willing to go through training and certification; Black Belt certification optional; training and course program would be paid for by Rio Grande
- In-depth understanding of root-cause analysis and critical thinking
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to effectively navigate in SAP, conduct searches and run reports
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Sharp attention to detail
- Customer oriented
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build positive team morale and team commitment to quality improvements and objectives
- Effective team player with the ability to work independently and is a self-starter
- Intermediate to advanced MS Office knowledge. Solid knowledge in the use of Excel for data collection, analysis and charting.

Physical Demands:
- Walking, standing, sitting, and bending for long periods
