Why you'll love this position: The Section for Long-Term Care seeks to help protect the health and safety of elderly and disabled individuals residing in long-term care facilities. This professional position serves as a member of team responsible for compliance with state and federal regulations. This is a highly rewarding position supporting a team of dedicated professionals performing long-term care regulatory functions to ensure quality of services.
The salary indicated represents a base pay rate. If the individual selected or the position is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., shift, security, or years of service), it will be added to the total compensation in your paycheck. - Collaborate with and lead section staff and industry stakeholders through the rule promulgation process regarding 19 CSR 30 regulations affecting our long-term care facilities and adult day care programs. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: revising regulatory language, revising associated forms, preparing fiscal notes, facilitating stakeholder meetings and public hearings.
- Assist and manage the end-to-end workflow for exception and second business provider requests, including research analysis, and final determination of the request.
- Collaborate with the team on oversight and management of the SLCR Adult Day Care Program Manual and the SLCR Licensure Regulations Manual.
- Analyze quarterly data from federal IQIES and ASPEN databases to identify top deficiencies across all licensed long-term care facilities and adult day care programs, culminating in a final report.
- Be a resource for questions from providers, staff, and general public regarding regulatory requirements for long-term care facilities.
- When necessary, conduct onsite surveys at licensed long-term care facilities to ensure state licensure and federal Medicare/Medicaid compliance.
- Assist the Unit Manager with identifying resources with a creative approach, improving processes for efficiency and assist with and help address unmet needs.
- Other duties, as assigned.
- Highly organized with ability to prioritize critical tasks and manage conflicting deadlines.
- Strong computer skills with the ability to learn new programs.
- Analytical thinker with research proficiency and self-directed decision-making approach.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service to our staff, long-term care facility providers and residents, and the public.
- Requires current knowledge of state and federal regulations, policies and procedures pertaining to the survey, inspection, and investigation processes of licensed long term care facilities.
- Candidates must submit official college transcripts. Candidates must meet the qualifications for a Long Term Care Surveyer
Bachelor's degree and 2-4 years of relevant experience (Education and relevant experience substitutions may be allowed.)
