Specimen Collector - Owensboro, KY Full-Time On-Site

Job Details Position: Specimen Collector Location: Owensboro, KY (42303); Evansville, IN (travel within Western Kentucky region) Type: Full‑time; Salary: $20.00 per hour Schedule: Variable shift times between 8:00AM and 5:00PM, Monday‑Friday. Key Responsibilities Collect and process laboratory specimens (oral, urine, blood) per policy. Enter orders accurately and timely. Adhere to established specimen collection protocols and infection prevention measures. Maintain accurate records and follow checklists. Transport specimens to the lab; ensure accurate labeling and shipping. Participate in continuous process improvement and compliance activities. Provide a frictionless patient experience and demonstrate compassion. Maintain neat, clean work areas and appropriate PPE. Order and maintain inventory of supplies. Conduct direct observation during specimen collection when required. Assist with billing information entry and payment collection as per policy. Qualifications & Requirements Valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and successful motor vehicle record check. High School Diploma or GED. Prior patient or specimen collection experience is a plus (e.g., phlebotomist, medical assistant). Knowledge of specimen collection techniques and bio‑hazard prevention. Basic computer literacy and ability to learn new technology. Strong attention to detail, accuracy in data entry, and record keeping. Effective communication with diverse patients and clients.
