Job Title: RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 7 PM to 7 AM Experience: Minimum of 1 year of Critical Care experience License: Valid Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS Must-Have: 6 hours of Critical Care CEUs per year Description: Responsible for assessment of critically ill patients. Duties include but are not limited to caring for patients requiring mechanical ventilation, central lines, arterial lines, and telemetry monitoring. The nurse must be able to respond to code situations and assist the provider during these times. The nurse should possess the ability to assist with bedside procedures as indicated. Mixed acuity patient assignments may be required. There is a combination of paper and computer charting along with an electronic medication administration record. Shifts are 12 hours in length. The employee will not work alone and call is not required. Weekend rotation is every other weekend, and there may be holiday rotations. Floating may occur to other departments, but the nurse will not take an assignment when floating. There are 6 beds in the unit. The nurse-to-patient ratio is based on patient acuity, with at least 2 RNs per shift. Dress code is scrubs. Nurse will be expected to handle a full patient load after 2-3 orientation shifts. Cancellation policy is not applicable.
