Clinical Pharmacist – Home Infusion (Sterile Compounding Focus) Location: Fairfield, NJ 07004 Primary Work Location: 11 Commerce Way Suite H, Totowa, NJ 07512 Pay Rate: $64.27 per hour Schedule: Monday–Friday | 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM (flexibility required, occasional days until 7:00 PM) Type: As-Needed Clinical Pharmacist Role We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Pharmacist with strong home infusion and sterile compounding experience to support operations in Totowa, NJ. This role is heavily focused on clinical review, sterile compounding oversight, final verification, and documentation within a clean room environment. This is not a prescription processing role. The pharmacist will serve in a clinical validation and oversight capacity supporting home infusion pharmacy operations. Important Requirement Home infusion experience with clean room / sterile compounding expertise is required. Role Overview The Clinical Pharmacist will perform high-level clinical and operational oversight of home infusion therapies. Responsibilities include final product verification, lab result review, documentation accuracy, and clinical validation of therapy appropriateness. This role supports patient safety, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance within a sterile compounding and home infusion pharmacy environment. Key Responsibilities Clinical Oversight & Validation Perform final verification of compounded sterile preparations prior to dispensing. Review laboratory values and assess therapy appropriateness. Ensure prescriptions and therapies are clinically appropriate and compliant with regulatory standards. Identify and escalation drug-related problems or clinical concerns to appropriate healthcare providers. Sterile Compounding & Clean Room Support Oversee sterile compounding processes within a clean room environment. Ensure compliance with USP standards and internal quality procedures. Verify compounded medications for accuracy, sterility, and proper labeling. Maintain strict adherence to safety and contamination prevention protocols. Documentation & Compliance Maintain accurate and complete patient and medication records. Ensure proper documentation of clinical interventions and verification steps. Support audit readiness and compliance with pharmacy regulations and internal SOPs. Ensure medications are dispensed within all legal and regulatory requirements. Patient Care & Clinical Communication Provide consultation on medication therapy, including dosage, administration, and side effects. Communicate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals regarding therapy plans and clinical concerns. Support patient safety initiatives and medication optimization efforts. Pharmacy Support Functions Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff as needed. Maintain awareness of inventory and medication supply levels. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure timely and accurate medication preparation and delivery. Support pharmacy operations in a flexible, as-needed capacity. Required Qualifications Active Pharmacist license in good standing (NJ licensure required or ability to obtain) Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent degree required Strong home infusion pharmacy experience (required) Clean room and sterile compounding experience (required) Experience performing final verification and clinical review functions Strong knowledge of USP standards and sterile compounding regulations Ability to work independently in a clinical oversight capacity Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy Preferred Qualifications Experience in home infusion, specialty pharmacy, or hospital infusion settings Prior experience in QA, final check, or verification pharmacist roles Familiarity with lab monitoring and infusion therapy management Experience working with multidisciplinary clinical teams Strong communication and clinical decision-making skills Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is an experienced infusion pharmacist with strong sterile compounding expertise who is comfortable working in a validation-focused role rather than prescription processing.
