Job Summary:
The healthcare professional specializing in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) position in the area of Utica, New York, will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care in a challenging environment. This role involves supporting patients with neuro, cardiac, trauma, and respiratory diagnoses, utilizing specialty equipment, and adhering to unit protocols to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The position is designed for a dedicated RN with experience in IMCU/PCU settings, including float responsibilities, and requires flexibility to work night shifts.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights, 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license(s) with active licensure in New York, current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications, at least 2 years of experience in Intermediate Care Unit or Progressive Care Unit, and EMR experience with EPIC system. Must have a valid Driver's license with address matching demographics.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with specialty equipment such as Temp pacer, Chest tubes, Arterial lines (A lines), Bipap, Neptune Vapo, and chronic vents with assistance from Respiratory Therapy.
• Additional Information: Floating may be required to support other units as needed. The unit consists of 64 beds, with 15 designated for neuro care, and cares for adult patients aged 18 and older. Scrub color is navy blue, and the work environment includes managing common diagnoses such as neuro, cardiac, trauma, COPD, DKA, sepsis, MI, and post-operative care.
