Commercial Electrician

Job TitleInstall, maintain, and repair commercial electrical systems, wiring, equipment, and fixtures. Ensure that work is in accordance with all relevant codes. Install conduit systems, hang light fixtures, install feeder wire and terminate electrical panels.Essential FunctionsLayout, install, repair or replace electrical wiring, equipment, components and fixtures using hand and power tools; based on job specifications, electrical drawings and local codesInspect and trouble shoot electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with electrical codes and safety rulesDiagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problemTest electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures to ensure compatibility and safety of systemUse a variety of tools and equipment such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment including circuit tracers, volt meters, megger, proximity testers and ohmmetersInstall panel boards, transformers, motor control centers and motorsLayout and work from ladders, aerial lifts, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring, equipment, outlet/junction boxes, fixtures and fixture whipsPlace conduit, pipes or tubing, inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxesConnect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other componentsMaintain trade specific tools and are required as shown in Adams Electric's tool listPerform physically demanding tasks, such as digging trenches to lay conduit and moving and lifting heavy objectsNotify the foreman/crew leader, superintendent or management when the continued operation of equipment could be hazardous or could cause a safety violationDirect and instruct apprentices and helpers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixturesUtilize time management skills in order to manage one's own time and the time of othersAssist with administration duties such as preparing Jobsite Safety Analysis, Jobsite Hazard Analysis and preparation of safety reportsPosition QualificationsHigh School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)Licensed as an electrician OR3 - 7 years related experience or equivalent knowledge and experienceWorking ConditionsUse of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required (Hard hat, vest, protective eye ware, safety boots.)Work is performed indoors and outdoors, often exposed to the natural elements of cold, heat, moisture, and wind.Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 LBS on a regular basis.Must comply with the company's drug and alcohol testing requirements and background screening processCompany BenefitsCompetitive wagesComplete medical, dental and vision benefitsPaid time offPaid holidaysWeekly Pay401K ProgramsLife InsuranceShort-Term DisabilityOpportunities to build a job into a CAREER!
