As a Supplier Quality Control Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring that the components and assemblies delivered by our global supply chain meet the exacting standards required to protect lives and secure national defense. Position Summary The Supplier Quality Control Inspector is responsible for verifying that incoming materials, parts, and assemblies from external suppliers conform to Anduril’s engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards. This role involves performing receiving inspections, executing source inspections at supplier facilities, and collaborating with Supplier Quality Engineers (SQEs) to resolve non-conformances. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of GD&T, experience with precision aerospace/defense hardware, and a proactive attitude toward problem-solving. Key Responsibilities Incoming & Source Inspection: Perform dimensional, visual, and functional inspections of incoming mechanical parts, electronic assemblies, wire harnesses, and custom fabrications per engineering drawings and AS9102 (First Article Inspection) guidelines. Metrology & Equipment: Utilize standard hand tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges) as well as advanced metrology equipment (CMM, optical comparators, FaroArms) to verify part dimensions. Document Control: Review supplier-provided documentation, including Certificates of Conformance (CoC), material test reports (MTRs), plating/coating certs, and test data for compliance. Non-Conformance Management (MRB): Document and segregate non-conforming materials. Initiate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and assist SQEs in Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations with suppliers. Supplier Collaboration: Travel to supplier facilities (up to 20%) to perform source inspections, audit supplier processes, and foster strong technical relationships. Data Integrity: Accurately record inspection results in Anduril’s ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline the receiving inspection process and improve inspection tooling/methods. Required Qualifications U.S. Person Status: Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident due to ITAR/EAR compliance. Experience: 3+ years of experience in quality control inspection, specifically within aerospace, defense, space, or automotive manufacturing. Technical Skills: Proficient in reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings and blueprints. Strong working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) per ASME Y14.5. Experience with First Article Inspection (FAI) reports in accordance with AS9102. Equipment Knowledge: Hands-on experience with mechanical measurement tools (micrometers, thread gauges, bore gauges, etc.). Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to professional negotiate quality standards with suppliers. Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. and stand for extended periods. Must be willing to travel more than 50% Preferred Qualifications Experience operating or programming CMMs (Coordinate Measuring Machines) using PC-DMIS, Calypso, or equivalent software. Active certifications such as ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or Certified Quality Technician (CQT). IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620, or J-STD-001 certifications (highly valued for electronics/cable harness inspection). The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only.
