Job Title: Technical Product Owner
Contract Length: 6 Months (with potential for extension)
Location: Hybrid Remote | Onsite Tuesdays and Thursdays in Louisville, KY 40213
Overview:
We are seeking a Technical Product Owner III to support and enhance internal platform products that power digital operations for a leading restaurant and hospitality organization. This role serves as the bridge between engineering teams and platform delivery, ensuring that developer-focused tools, infrastructure services, automation capabilities, and cloud platforms provide maximum value to the business.
The ideal candidate has experience managing technical product backlogs, working closely with engineering teams, and translating technical requirements into actionable product deliverables. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys improving developer experience, driving platform adoption, and supporting modern DevOps and cloud initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Product & Backlog Management
- Support and contribute to the roadmap for internal platform products and developer tools
- Own and manage the product backlog, including:
- Epics
- User stories
- Acceptance criteria
- Gather requirements and translate stakeholder needs into prioritized development work
- Track and report on product performance metrics, including:
- Platform adoption
- User satisfaction
- Operational efficiency
- Productivity improvements
- Communicate roadmap updates, priorities, and delivery progress to stakeholders
- Support planning, intake, prioritization, and capacity management activities
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Partner with engineering teams to understand needs, challenges, and opportunities for improvement
- Conduct user interviews, surveys, office hours, and feedback sessions
- Collaborate with:
- Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams
- DevOps teams
- Solutions Architecture teams
- Cloud and security teams
- Product and business stakeholders
- Ensure engineering priorities align with broader business objectives
- Platform Adoption & Automation
- Drive adoption of platform capabilities through strong stakeholder engagement and communication
- Support self-service and automation initiatives that reduce manual effort
- Help improve developer productivity and user experience
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and platform usage
- Continuous Improvement
- Monitor platform effectiveness and recommend enhancements
- Use product metrics and stakeholder feedback to guide prioritization decisions
- Contribute to platform modernization and operational excellence initiatives
- Support scalable solutions that improve engineering efficiency and business outcomes
Required Qualifications:
- 1-2+ years of experience in Product Management or Technical Product Ownership
- Approximately 3 years of experience supporting technical products for technical users such as:
- Software Engineers
- Platform Engineers
- DevOps Teams
- IT Teams
- Experience managing product backlogs in an Agile environment
- Experience gathering requirements and translating business needs into development deliverables
- Familiarity with product metrics, reporting, and adoption measurement
- Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences
- Bachelor's degree (technical degree preferred but not required)

- Product Management certification or formal product training
- Experience supporting consumer-scale digital platforms
- Familiarity with retail, hospitality, restaurant technology, or point-of-sale (POS) environments
