Senior Accountant

Reports To: Chief Financial Officer
Employment Status: Full-Time, Exempt

Position Summary

The Senior Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting timely financial reporting, and performing complex accounting work across Jett Management and its affiliated companies.

This position serves as a senior-level accounting resource within the finance department and works closely with the Chief Financial Officer to ensure financial information is accurate, organized, and useful. The Senior Accountant is expected to independently manage significant accounting responsibilities, identify discrepancies, solve problems, and help strengthen accounting processes as the organization grows.

This is a hands-on accounting position requiring strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to work across multiple companies, locations, and business lines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform and review general ledger accounting activities across multiple companies and entities.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, adjustments, and account reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
• Assist with consolidation and intercompany accounting between affiliated companies.
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and unusual transactions.
• Maintain supporting documentation for financial activity.
• Ensure accounting deadlines are consistently met.
• Identify incomplete, inaccurate, or unusual financial activity before reporting is finalized.
• Prepare financial schedules, reports, and analysis requested by the CFO.
• Assist with budget-to-actual and period-over-period variance analysis.
• Help identify accounting trends, errors, risks, and opportunities for process improvement.
• Provide financial information and accounting support to operational and administrative leaders.
• Assist with accounting related to new locations, acquisitions, major purchases, and organizational changes.
• Work with outside accountants, auditors, and other financial professionals as directed by the CFO.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, documentation, and efficiency.
• Assist with financial system implementations, conversions, integrations, and process changes.
• Help establish consistent accounting practices across affiliated companies and locations.
• Support accounting team members with complex transactions, reconciliations, and accounting questions as needed.
• Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, or other financial functions when additional support is needed.
• Participate in special projects involving acquisitions, new locations, system implementations, or business transitions.
• Help solve financial and accounting problems that may cross traditional departmental boundaries.
• Maintain a team-first approach and contribute wherever strong accounting knowledge and attention to detail provide value.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field required.
• CPA or CMA preferred but not required.
• Minimum of 4–7 years of progressive accounting experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, financial statements, reconciliations, accrual accounting, and month-end close.
• Experience working with multiple entities, locations, or business lines strongly preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• High level of accuracy, organization, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
• Ability to independently manage deadlines and competing priorities.
• Strong Excel and accounting-system proficiency.
• Comfortable working in a growing organization where responsibilities may evolve over time.

Work Schedule and Travel

This position requires flexibility based on the needs of the organization. Additional hours may occasionally be required during month-end or year-end close, audits, acquisitions, system changes, or other significant business events. Occasional travel between company locations or meetings may be required.
