Key Responsibilities

• Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients, delivering competent and specialized nursing care throughout the care continuum.
• Obtains and monitors physiological data, observes patient manifestations, and intervenes as necessary.
• Administers medications as prescribed and initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products.
• Assists physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments.
• Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments, noting all changes in physician orders.
• Educates patients and families on care plans, hospital procedures, and discharge instructions; delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate.

Required Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association, required upon hire.
• ACLS certification (American Heart Association) required within 6 months of hire.
• Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures.
• Ability to organize, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques effectively within a specialty area.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher from a Board Approved Program preferred.
• Prior experience functioning independently in an IR or Special Procedures specialty area.
