Valli Information Systems is a well-established, multi-division company headquartered in Caldwell, Idaho, with additional operations in Anchorage, AK, and Albuquerque, NM. Our company began in IT and computer services over 43 years ago and has grown over the years to provide a variety of business services, including medical billing and print/mail services.

We are looking for an Accounting Specialist to join our accounting team and assist with the day-to-day accounting needs of our five divisions.

Who We're Looking For

Our ideal candidate is proficient, productive and professional, with 2+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, AR/AP or similar experience.

We're looking for someone who is the right balance of team player and independent worker — someone who is willing to take direction and follow established processes, but who can also recognize what needs to be done, take ownership of their responsibilities and roll up their sleeves to get the job done.

Just as importantly, this person should be caring, dependable and helpful when working with our customers, vendors and fellow employees.

What You'll Be Doing

This is a hands-on accounting position that will spend a significant portion of each day working in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel, so demonstrated proficiency with both is important.

Primary responsibilities will include:

• Accounts payable
• Customer invoicing and accounts receivable
• Customer and vendor account maintenance
• Payment posting and transaction processing
• Researching and resolving account discrepancies
• A limited amount of customer collections using an established process
• Maintaining accurate accounting records
• Assisting the accounting team with other day-to-day accounting functions

As you become familiar with our company and demonstrate a successful track record, there will be opportunities to learn additional accounting functions, assist with month-end processes and participate in special accounting projects.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on bookkeeping, accounting, AR and/or AP experience
• Proficiency with QuickBooks
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good communication skills for working with customers and vendors
• Good organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to research and resolve discrepancies
• Ability to follow established processes while also working independently
• Dependable and productive work habits

Our business has some unique industry-specific accounting processes, so we don't expect candidates to walk in knowing everything we do. Industry-specific experience is not required; we are willing to train the right person. We do, however, want someone who comes to us with a solid accounting foundation and is proficient in QuickBooks and Excel.

Position & Benefits

This is a full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. position, 40 hours per week, based in our Caldwell office.
