CAPSA is a nonprofit organization providing confidential support to individuals affected by domestic violence and sexual abuse across Cache Valley and the Bear Lake area. In addition to response services, CAPSA focuses on prevention-working with youth and the community to reduce violence before it starts.We are hiring a Community Awareness Educator to help CAPSA engage and educate the community through presentations, youth leadership, outreach events, and prevention initiatives. This role combines public education with meaningful relationship-building and provides an opportunity to work directly with youth, community partners, schools, and local organizations.A significant part of this role is serving as the lead advisor for CAPSA Youth Council, supporting young people as they develop leadership skills, participate in prevention efforts, and help create safer, healthier communities. The role also coordinates community, business, and adult education presentations, supports community events and outreach, and collaborates on youth-focused social media and prevention campaigns.This position is well-suited for someone who is organized, creative, comfortable speaking in front of groups, and energized by working with both youth and adults. The ideal candidate enjoys building relationships, coordinating moving parts, and creating engaging experiences that connect people to prevention education and community resources.What the role involves:Serving as the lead advisor for CAPSA Youth Council, including supporting youth leadership, coordinating meetings and events, tracking participation, and maintaining ongoing communication with students and advisorsDelivering engaging prevention and community education presentations to youth, adults, businesses, and community groupsBuilding and maintaining relationships with schools, community organizations, financial institutions, and other local partnersCoordinating CAPSA's participation in community events, outreach opportunities, and prevention initiativesSupporting the planning and implementation of Friends Night Out, CAPSA's annual community event for youthCoordinating Financial Empowerment presentations for youth and adults in partnership with community organizations and financial expertsManaging event logistics, materials, volunteers, and follow-up to ensure CAPSA is represented effectively in the communityCo-managing CAPSA Teens social media content with a focus on youth-centered prevention education and awarenessTracking program participation, service hours, community engagement, and other outcomes to support program and grant goalsMaintaining timely communication, documentation, scheduling, and follow-up across multiple projects and responsibilitiesThe schedule requires flexibility to meet school and community needs, including occasional evening and weekend events. This role also requires strong organization and independent planning, as responsibilities span ongoing youth programming, presentations, community events, and long-term prevention projects.This role offers the opportunity to make an impact at both the individual and community level.
