Aircraft Mechanic (A&P)

Location: Mojave, CA

Pay: $39.56/hour

Hours: 6a-5pm. 4/10 schedule

Position Summary

The Aircraft Mechanic is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and repair of mechanical and electrical aircraft systems. This role supports both preventive and corrective maintenance activities on fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft, as well as associated ground support equipment when applicable.

The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, experience interpreting technical documentation, and the ability to work independently while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Aircraft Maintenance & Repair

• Perform installation, testing, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of mechanical and electrical aircraft systems
• Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on aircraft airframes, engines, and associated systems
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, structural, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic system issues
• Perform inspections and maintenance activities in accordance with FAA, military, and company standards
• Support maintenance and repair activities on ground support equipment and vehicles as required

Installation & Modification

• Install aircraft components, assemblies, and mechanical systems
• Perform aircraft modifications and system upgrades utilizing approved engineering documentation
• Assist in the development and implementation of engineering drawings and installation procedures
• Execute sheet metal modifications and structural repairs as required

Technical Documentation

• Read, interpret, and work from:
• Engineering drawings
• Mechanical fabrication drawings
• Installation drawings
• Aircraft maintenance manuals
• Technical orders and specifications
• Accurately document maintenance actions and inspection results

Troubleshooting & Testing

• Perform troubleshooting and fault isolation on aircraft systems and components
• Utilize test equipment, measuring devices, and maintenance tools to diagnose system performance issues
• Conduct functional testing and verification of repaired or installed systems
• Ensure aircraft systems meet operational and airworthiness requirements

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all FAA, military, company, and customer safety requirements
• Maintain compliance with maintenance procedures and quality standards
• Ensure work is performed in accordance with approved technical data and regulatory requirements
• Support continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives

Required Qualifications

Education

• High School Diploma or GED
• FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License

Experience

• Minimum of four years of related aircraft maintenance experience

Technical Skills

• Strong proficiency with:
• Aircraft maintenance manuals
• Technical publications
• Hand tools
• Pneumatic and air-powered tools
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing aircraft mechanical and electrical systems
• Ability to read and interpret engineering and maintenance documentation
• Experience performing aircraft system installations and modifications
