Senior Database Administrator

Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Experience Three to five years’ DBA experience with Sybase and MS SQL server. Two to three years’ DBA experience with distributed databases. PostgresSQL, CockroachDB is a plus. Working knowledge of SQL Server internals. Experience with sql scripting, stored procedures and triggers. Ability to develop and maintain Linux and Windows shell scripts and cron jobs used to monitor resource usage and contention. Experience deploying and maintaining containerized applications. Experience implementing and maintaining Flink/Kafka data pipelines. Working knowledge with data flows from on-premises to Cloud. Kingswaysoft experience is a plus. Working knowledge of SSIS deployment techniques. Working knowledge of network connectivity and interoperability for multi-platform environments. Proven production support background of application databases in a 24 X 7 environment. Strong problem solving and analytical skills are necessary for this position. Database administration certification supplements the position skill base and is considered a plus. Ability to express complex technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing. Excellent time management and organizational skills are necessary for this position. Ability to work independently with limited supervision. Ability to work well with people from different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience. Ability to work on various assignments simultaneously. Ability to communicate tactfully, verbally and in writing with department heads, managers, coworkers and vendors to resolve problems and negotiate resolutions Working knowledge of computers, internet access, and the ability to navigate within an automated systems as well as a variety of software packages such as Outlook, Excel and Word. Education Associate’s degree in computer science or related field from an accredited college or university or the international equivalent required.
