We are seeking to hire Large Water Meter Testers to join our team for a project with the City of Austin, TX . As a Large Water Meter Tester, you will play a critical role in ensuring the testing, accuracy and proper functionality of large commercial water meters. Key Responsibilities:

• Large Meter Testing:
• • Travel from location to location to perform testing on large water meters, while maintaining a high standard of work quality, accuracy, and efficiency.
• Perform Meter Tests:
• • Use specialized testing equipment to evaluate the accuracy and performance of large water meters and identify meters that may require further attention.
• Document Test Results:
• • Accurately record meter readings, test results, meter information, and other required data using our specialized software.
• Equipment Operation:
• • Safely operate water meter testing equipment and follow proper procedures to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
• Identify Issues:
• • Identify meters that are not operating properly or are outside acceptable accuracy levels and properly document any issues found during testing.
• Communication:
• • Interact professionally with City personnel, customers, and other members of the project team when necessary.
• Safety Compliance:
• • Adhere to all safety protocols, company guidelines, and City of Austin requirements to ensure a safe working environment.

Qualifications:

• Physical Fitness:
• • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including working outside throughout the day, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and working around large meter pits and equipment.
• Mechanical Skills:
• • Basic understanding of plumbing, mechanical systems, or water meters is preferred, but not required. Willingness to learn and work with testing equipment is essential.
• Attention to Detail:
• • Ability to accurately collect, record, and verify meter readings and test results.
• Tech Savvy:
• • Having a reliable phone and being comfortable using software applications for data entry, documentation, picture taking and record-keeping.
• Reliable Transportation:
• • Must have dependable transportation to get to work and the ability to travel between job sites throughout the project when needed.
• Reliability & Work Ethic:
• • Must be dependable, punctual, willing to work outdoors , and able to work independently while maintaining consistent productivity and quality.

Compensation:

• Hourly Wage: $25.00 an hour

Project Duration:

• Austin, TX: Project-based / Full Time
