The Hospital is part of NYC Health + Hospitals. South Brooklyn Health is a redesigned health care campus featuring the new 11-floor Ruth Bader Ginsburg Hospital which provides emergency care, modern labor & delivery suites, and state-of-the-art surgical services. The new Health & Wellness Institute offers outpatient services—from primary and preventive care to specialty services for children and adults—all designed to keep our community healthy and accommodates more than 250,000 outpatient visits, more than 89,000 emergency room visits, and with 371 beds, more than 15,000 inpatient admissions annually. Dedicated to providing the highest quality health care services to all New Yorkers with compassion, dignity and respect, and regardless of immigration status or ability to pay.Responsibilities:Provide comprehensive gastroenterological care for our diverse patient populationProvide comprehensive care for patients with inflammatory bowel diseaseComprehensive Women's Gastrointestinal Health- Provide care and emotional support to women facing gastrointestinal issuesPerform Diagnostic/Therapeutic Upper Endoscopy, Colonoscopy and/or Push Enteroscopy (with or without biopsies, polypectomy, control of bleeding, ligation of varices, removal of foreign bodies, dilation, stenting, etc.) for patients seen in gastroenterology clinicPerform Advance/Biliary endoscopy services including ERCP, Endoscopic Ultrasound, and Enteral StentingPerform and interpret capsule endoscopy proceduresProvide gastroenterology consultations for inpatientsWill be responsible for providing a diverse range of gastroenterological care to both inpatients and outpatientsQualificationsGraduate from an accredited medical schoolAdvanced GI fellowship preferredBoard Certification in Gastroenterology or the ability to become board certified within 5 years of hireUnrestricted NYS medical license, or the ability to obtain oneCultural sensitivity and experience treating an under-served patient population preferredWages and Benefits include:Annual Base Salary: $361,000* (Board Eligible) $371,000* (Board Certified) based on 40-hour work week.The annual total value of the compensation package is estimated at $491,520** (Board Eligible) $501,520** (Board Certified). The annual total value of the compensation package shown is provided as an illustration and is not guaranteed.Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked per week is $55,520Projected bonus of up to $40,000 (based on previous year's average), contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets.401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits): Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings.
