Senior Director, Hips R&D

Set and execute the R&D vision and strategy for DePuy Synthes’ hips procedural solutions Integrate hips solutions with digital, robotics, and biologics portfolios Translate customer insights into differentiated solutions delivering clinical and enterprise value Steward enterprise capabilities, resources, standards, and ways of working across DePuy Synthes R&D Own the upfront and New Product Development lifecycle from concept through launch Evolve processes, operating models, and talent to strengthen execution excellence Lead globally distributed R&D teams Serve on the cross-functional hips platform leadership team Provide oversight of strategy execution, speed, quality, customer satisfaction, and profitable growth Drive cross-portfolio integration and reuse of platforms, technologies, and capabilities Develop innovation roadmaps and differentiated value propositions across the hip care continuum Own hips R&D performance against value-creation metrics Represent hips R&D on enterprise management forums, operating boards, planning committees, innovation councils, and the DPS R&D Leadership Team Maintain relationships with surgeon KOLs and emerging customer segments Lead talent and organizational strategy and develop enterprise-minded leaders Report to the VP of R&D Joints / VP Hips and Knees R&D Requirements 10 years in R&D At least 3 years’ experience specific to Hips systems R&D At least a Bachelor’s Degree Demonstrated track record in an R&D/Platform leadership position within a large-scale, global organization 5-10 years’ experience in organizational and talent development Track record of achieving strong results in an orthopedic division or company through influence and collaboration Excellent communication and influencing skills Ability to build and maintain relationships with organizational leaders, external customers, and regulatory agencies Experience executing product launches with emphasis on Design to Excellence and Design to Value principles Measurable track record of creating value through new innovations Ability to shape/lead a product portfolio and enrich the innovation pipeline Around 30% domestic and international travel MBA, MS engineering or advanced degree preferred Preferred area of study: Mechanical / Systems / Biomedical Engineering PMA / Class III Medical Devices experience preferred Core Competencies Demonstrates extensive experience in R&D leadership within the orthopedic sector, with a focus on hips systems.
