Associate Attorney - General Liability - Complex Liability - Catastrophic Loss

Description The Associate attorney will manage a diverse caseload from inception through resolution, providing strategic legal counsel and representation in court, arbitrations, and depositions. This role requires exceptional research, drafting, and litigation skills, along with the ability to collaborate closely with partners and clients in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate demonstrates independence, strong communication, and a commitment to meeting a 1,950-hour annual billable requirement. Job Type Full‑time Primary Job Duties File review and legal analysis of claims and causes of action Extensive legal research and drafting of substantial briefs, memos, pleadings, and appellate briefs Regularly representing clients in court, at arbitrations and in depositions Drafting and responding to discovery requests Expert witness retention and collaboration Trial preparation and attendance Collaborate closely with partners, clients, and stakeholders to deliver strategic and practical legal advice Manage deadlines and assignments with a high level of ownership and independence Key Competencies Communicating – Provide information required by others in a concise, direct, and unambiguous way, ensuring the receiver clearly understands specifications and functions. Conflict Management – Address problems openly and objectively, bringing substantial conflicts and disagreements into the open with the intention of resolving issues unemotionally and constructively. Professionalism – Set high standards and serve as role models for work performance, ethical conduct, and respect for others, consistently conducting themselves in accordance with accepted moral principles and guidelines of the profession. Planning & Priority Setting – Identify priorities and develop detailed action plans that include objectives, accountabilities, time frames, standards, review stages, and contingencies. Requirements J.D. from an ABA‑accredited law school Active license to practice law in state posted (required); additional bar admissions a plus Minimum of 2 years of experience in practice group Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills Experience with administrative proceedings, depositions, and mediations Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment Professional demeanor with strong client‑relations and communication skills Must be responsive and organized, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks #J-18808-Ljbffr Chartwell Law
