Job Title: Interventional Radiology Tech

Experience: Minimum 2 years specific to Interventional Radiology at a Level 1 Trauma Center
License: BLS, ARRT-R or RCIS
Certifications: ACLS, NIHSS
Must-Have: Scrubbing and assisting in procedures; Circulating-operating equipment, providing needed supplies
Description:
Interventional Radiology Tech position available.
The facility includes 8 rooms specific to Interventional Radiology.
Average patients per day range from 45 to 50 cases.
Patient types include those with stroke, cancer, tumors, and occlusions in various vascular areas.
Neuro patients may experience strokes, ruptures, and subdural fistulas.
Body patients may present with trauma, complex embolization, thrombectomy, thrombolysis, sclerotherapy, Y-90, Sir spheres, biopsies, and various drainage and access procedures.
There are 7 providers and 4 Advanced Practice Providers in the department.
Support within the department includes 3 tech extenders for room turnover, paperwork, transport, and inventory.
Two technologists work per room alongside registered nurses.
The imaging systems used include Siemens, GE, and Philips, along with GE ultrasound units.
Call is required for this position, with expectations of 3-4 call days per month.
Weekend call is every 5th-6th weekend, typically from Friday evening through Monday morning.
75% of holidays must be worked if scheduled.
RTO requests require manager approval, and scheduling is cycled every 4-6 weeks.
The department culture encourages new graduates, who need to be comfortable with mentorship and preceptorship.
Scrub color is provided by the hospital.
