Web Developer & Technical Support Specialist

The Digital Navigator

We are looking for a versatile web developer to build and maintain modern websites, resolve technical support requests, and help develop our website and automation infrastructure.

The ideal candidate has experience with Astro, Payload CMS, Next.js, or similar technologies and is comfortable learning tools such as n8n, Make, and ElevenLabs. WordPress experience remains important because several existing clients still use it, but the role will increasingly focus on modern development, integrations, automation, and technical systems.

You should be able to troubleshoot independently, communicate blockers clearly, test thoroughly, and document completed work.

* Build responsive websites using Astro, Payload CMS, Next.js, or similar technologies.
* Develop pages from approved designs and create reusable components.
* Work with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, Git, and version control.
* Help migrate content from WordPress or other platforms.
* Test across devices and improve performance and reliability.
* Configure headless CMS fields, page structures, and reusable content types.
* Connect websites to CRMs, automations, analytics, ad platforms, and other systems.
* Document website and CMS configurations.
* Complete website and technical support tickets.
* Investigate issues and identify root causes rather than temporary fixes.
* Resolve problems involving webpages, forms, integrations, tracking, hosting, domains, CMS platforms, and third-party services.
* Document the issue, solution, and testing completed.
* Escalate issues affecting security, payments, client data, or critical functionality.
* Maintain and troubleshoot existing WordPress websites.
* Work with Divi, Elementor, WooCommerce, FunnelKit, and similar tools.
* Resolve plugin conflicts, layout problems, form issues, and critical errors.
* Perform WordPress, plugin, and theme updates.
* Make basic PHP, CSS, HTML, or JavaScript changes.
* Assist with approved migrations away from WordPress.
* Connect websites with forms, CRMs, email platforms, analytics, payment systems, and other applications.
* Work with APIs, webhooks, authentication, and third-party integrations.
* Troubleshoot failed connections, expired tokens, and incorrect data transfers.
* Assist with n8n, Make, Zapier, and similar automation tools.
* Manage assigned work in ClickUp and review requirements before starting.
* Keep task statuses, due dates, progress notes, and time tracking current.
* Communicate early when access, requirements, or blockers may affect delivery.
* Add relevant URLs, screenshots, code references, and testing notes.
* Create simple documentation or walkthrough videos when needed.
* 2+ years of professional web development experience.
* Experience with Astro, Payload CMS, Next.js, or another modern JavaScript framework/CMS.
* Strong HTML, CSS, and JavaScript skills and working knowledge of TypeScript.
* Experience with Git, APIs, webhooks, and third-party integrations.
* Ability to troubleshoot technical issues independently.
* Some WordPress maintenance experience.
* Strong attention to detail and testing.
* Good written and spoken English.
* Willingness to learn new technologies.
* Reliable internet, camera, and microphone.
* Availability for some overlap with Central Time business hours.
* Experience with Node.js, headless CMS platforms, Cloudflare, Vercel, Netlify, n8n, Make, Zapier, analytics, conversion tracking, or agency work is a plus.

You enjoy learning new tools, can investigate problems without step-by-step instructions, and are comfortable supporting both modern websites and WordPress. You test before marking work complete, communicate blockers early, document clearly, and take responsibility for delivering a complete solution.
