Director, SEO/AEO

Lamark Media (“Lamark”) is an integrated digital marketing firm focused on delivering measurable results. Lamark seeks a Director, SEO/AEO to lead its SEO business unit. Director, SEO/AEO As a leadership role, the Director will drive revenue growth, scale SEO operations, and mentor a team of six SEO professionals. The position requires an agency background, a revenue‑focused mindset, and experience building scalable processes. Key Responsibilities Own SEO department revenue and strengthen client retention Identify opportunities for organic growth and support new business by shaping SEO strategy, scoping, and resourcing Ensure client strategies tie directly to measurable business outcomes Oversee delivery quality and ensure consistent execution through scalable systems, QA processes, and reporting standards Improve operational efficiency to drive stronger margins and align resourcing, forecasting, and capacity planning Lead a team of 6, with direct management of the Associate Director and indirect oversight of the broader team Support hiring, onboarding, and ongoing development of SEO talent by setting performance expectations, ensuring accountability, and elevating strategic thinking Develop frameworks, playbooks, standardized deliverables, and SOPs that allow for team scalability and cross‑team functionality, integrating automation and AI when applicable Act as a senior strategic lead across key accounts, ensuring proactive, insight‑driven recommendations that reinforce agency value Success Metrics Business unit revenue growth Client retention rate Service margins and contribution to client profitability Delivery quality and consistency Team performance and development Required Experience 8+ years of professional SEO experience, with demonstrated leadership, client outcome ownership, and operation scaling Agency tenure: experience in an agency or fast‑paced digital environment Accountability for retention, margin, and revenue at the department level Forward‑thinking organic strategy, including practices for AEO, “search everywhere,” and automation/AI adoption Passion for people management and mentoring other leaders Strong organizational and administrative skills, managing team delivery while prioritizing strategic business objectives Pivotal presentation and communication skills for client audiences Remote work experience with successful people and priority management through collaboration tools Perks And Benefits Dynamic company culture with freedom, responsibility, consultative transparency, and communication Diverse and forward‑thinking environment Career growth opportunities with direct access to agency leadership Company‑assisted medical, life, vision, and dental insurance; short‑term and long‑term disability benefits 401(k) with employer matching Company events and industry conferences Lamark Media is an equal employment opportunity employer.
