Pediatric Nursing – You will be mentoring students, in a clinical setting, while they demonstrate nursing skills and procedures. Family‑centered care of children is the focus of this course, exploring issues of normal child care as well as health alterations of children from infancy through adolescence. Students participate as members of the multidisciplinary health team to provide health promotion, illness prevention, health restoration and maintenance and rehabilitative care to children and families. Clinical Schedule Day: Wednesday; Friday; Saturday Time: 6:30 AM – 7:30 PM Responsibilities Implement the College’s philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes, and course objectives through clinical teaching, and serve the College, community, health system and profession. Assume responsibility for all autonomous aspects of individual teaching loads. Plan clinical experiences for and provide direct supervision and evaluation of nursing students delivering nursing care to an individual or group. Be self‑available to staff at the agencies. Evaluate and provide documented feedback to students on level of performance based on course objectives. Be available for remediation of students as required or needed. Orient and maintain current knowledge related to agency/clinical policies, procedures, and expectations with the assistance of agency/clinical personnel. Develop and post written clinical assignments consistent with student’s knowledge base, skill competency and individual learning needs. Correct and return homework, quizzes, tests, lab assignments, clinical paperwork and other written work in a timely manner. Contribute to the ongoing development, implementation, and evaluation of the programs and the College. May teach didactic course content under supervision of the course coordinator. Keep the course coordinator informed of all student and agency issues and concerns. Work with college administration, staff and other faculty members to improve the overall operation of the college and student satisfaction rates. Participate in the implementation of the College Assessment Program, campus retention efforts, and both departmental and campus policies. Serve as a professional role model for other faculty, staff and students in the areas of customer service, collaboration, communication, excellence, dress, attendance and general professionalism. Utilize relationship skills in situations requiring group problem solving, consensus building and win‑win negotiation. Comply with all applicable regulatory rules and standards. Report to the dean or assistant dean: a course coordinator will also provide direct oversight. Handle related duties as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Master’s Degree in Nursing (required). Two or more years of experience within the last five years in the practice of nursing as a registered nurse (required). Excellent communication skills with high level of initiative and prudent judgment. Professional nurse licensure required in the state of practice (required). Additional Information Chamberlain Visiting Professor Position – Campus: In support of pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected compensation rate for this position is between $1,120 per assignment and $7,245 per assignment, depending on the candidate’s education and experience. Actual pay may be adjusted based on job‑related factors permitted by law, such as type of course taught; experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
