Problem Solver Wanted!
Commercial/Industrial Service Technician – Plumbing & Troubleshooting
Are you good at figuring things out?

When something isn't working, are you the person who wants to know why —and then wants to fix it? Do you enjoy working with your hands, using tools, solving problems, and learning how things work?

If that sounds like you, we may have the job for you!

Culligan Water Conditioning is looking for a dependable, mechanically minded full-time Commercial/Industrial Service Technician to join our team in Salem, VA.

This is a hands-on opportunity to learn plumbing, troubleshooting, mechanical systems, equipment repair, and commercial/industrial water treatment while working alongside an experienced technician.

THIS IS NOT A DESK JOB!

You'll be out in the field working on real equipment, solving real problems, and learning something new along the way.

You may spend your day:

• Troubleshooting plumbing and mechanical problems.
• Figuring out what's causing a problem—not just treating the symptom.
• Using hand and power tools to diagnose and repair equipment.
• Assisting with plumbing repairs and installations.
• Working with commercial and industrial water treatment systems.
• Performing equipment maintenance and repairs.
• Learning how to read and understand plumbing, equipment, and system components.
• Working alongside an experienced technician who will teach you the trade.
• Communicating with customers and explaining the work being performed.
• Traveling to different customer locations and tackling different challenges each day.

No two days are exactly the same—and that's a good thing!

One day you may be troubleshooting a plumbing issue. The next, you may be working on a water treatment system or figuring out why a piece of equipment isn't operating correctly.

WHAT WE'RE REALLY LOOKING FOR

We're not looking for someone who already knows everything. We're looking for the right person who is willing to learn.

You may be a great fit if you are:

• A Problem Solver – You enjoy figuring things out.
• Mechanically Minded – You have an interest in tools, equipment, plumbing, or mechanical systems.
• Curious – You want to understand how things work and why they aren't working.
• Teachable – You're willing to ask questions and learn from experienced technicians.
• Dependable – You show up, you're on time, and you do what you say you'll do.
• Detail-Oriented – You take pride in doing the job correctly.
• Customer-Friendly – You can communicate professionally with customers and coworkers.
• A Team Player – You're willing to learn while becoming more independent in the field.

PLUMBING EXPERIENCE IS A PLUS — BUT NOT REQUIRED!

If you have experience in plumbing, HVAC, maintenance, construction, electrical, mechanical repair, water treatment, automotive repair, manufacturing, or another skilled trade , that's great!

But experience isn't everything.

We can teach the right person the trade. What we're looking for is curiosity, dependability, mechanical thinking, a strong work ethic, and the desire to learn.

This is a physically active, hands-on position, so you must be comfortable working with tools, equipment, and being on your feet in the field.

WHAT YOU'LL GET

Up to $21.00 per hour for a well-qualified candidate, based on experience and qualifications.
Plus:

• Commission opportunity after 90 days
• Paid vacation
• Paid sick time
• 401(k) retirement plan
• Health benefits
• Hands-on training
• Opportunity to learn a skilled trade
• Opportunity for long-term career growth

BUILD A CAREER — NOT JUST FIND ANOTHER JOB

This position gives you the opportunity to develop skills in plumbing, mechanical troubleshooting, equipment repair, and commercial/industrial water treatment that you can build on throughout your career.

If you're tired of sitting behind a desk, enjoy figuring things out, like working with your hands, and want to learn a valuable skilled trade, we'd like to meet you!

REQUIREMENTS

• Valid driver's license in good standing.
• Ability to lift up to 80 pounds.
• Willingness to work flexible hours when needed.
• Willingness to travel locally and occasionally outside your normal service area.
• Ability to communicate professionally with customers and coworkers.
• Dependable and reliable work habits.
• Willingness to learn and ask questions.

Culligan is a drug-free workplace and an equal opportunity employer.
