Educator, Alpha - $100,000/year USD

At Alpha, academic work is completed in just two hours daily through adaptive learning technology. This structure allows Guides to dedicate their energy to life-changing work: fostering confidence, resilience, communication skills, and the drive to embrace difficult challenges. Your day will not be spent delivering instruction from the front of a room. Instead, you will coach students through obstacles, acknowledge achievements, and demonstrate what rigorous standards look like when combined with authentic support.

You will guide one K-3 cohort band—either Kindergarten-1st grade or 2nd-3rd grade. Half your time is devoted to facilitating dynamic, one-hour workshops focused on life skills such as public speaking, concentration, and receiving feedback. The remaining half involves individual and small-group coaching, leveraging learning analytics to ensure every child advances toward challenging weekly objectives. Every moment counts. Students should exit your workshops with greater capability and leave coaching conversations believing they can accomplish more than previously imagined.

This position is not suited for someone seeking to deliver standard curriculum or oversee a traditional classroom. What You Will Be Doing

• Facilitate interactive life-skills workshops that enable K-3 students to develop communication, focus, feedback reception, and other enduring competencies through active engagement rather than passive listening.
• Provide one-on-one and small-group coaching, utilizing Coachbot analytics, established motivation frameworks, and meaningful relationships to ensure every child progresses toward challenging weekly learning targets.
• Evaluate life-skill proficiency using Alpha's Test2Pass system, coaching students until they display genuine mastery—not merely attendance.
• Tailor your coaching approach to match the developmental stage of your cohort, incorporating songs, movement, and narratives for younger children or fostering greater independence and responsibility for older students.
• Cultivate relationships in which students feel sufficiently supported to push beyond their perceived limits.

What You Won’t Be Doing

• Delivering academic instruction from a whiteboard. Academic learning occurs through adaptive software.
• Creating curriculum materials from the ground up. You will refine and personalize established playbooks rather than designing lessons from scratch.
• Observing students as they quietly work on computers. Your function is active coaching, encouragement, and relationship-building.
• Reducing standards when students face difficulties. Growth results from helping students meet the challenge, not adjusting the challenge downward.
• Overseeing homework, grading assignments, or managing standard parent communications.

Educator Key Responsibilities

Develop a cohort of K-3 students who are excited to attend school, reliably meet ambitious learning targets, and acquire the life skills that equip them for success well beyond elementary years.

Basic Requirements

• Willing to work on-site at an Alpha campus. Current openings at this salary level are located in Scottsdale, AZ; Oklahoma City and Tulsa, OK; Nashville, TN; Austin, Georgetown, Dallas, Plano, Fort Worth, and Houston, TX; and Park City (Salt Lake City area), UT.
• Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
• A minimum of 3 years of direct experience working with children ages 4-9 in teaching, coaching, tutoring, camp programs, youth initiatives, or comparable settings.
• Demonstrated success motivating young children to reach demanding goals, with concrete examples of your influence.
• Comfort integrating AI-powered learning technology while concentrating your effort on coaching, motivation, and life-skill instruction.
• The capacity to combine warmth with consistent, high expectations.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship.

Nice-to-have Requirements

• Background in youth athletics, children's theater, camp leadership, Montessori education, progressive schooling, or high-energy after-school programs.
• Personal history of reaching ambitious goals in academics, sports, or professional endeavors.
• Exceptional storytelling or performance abilities that naturally engage young children's attention.
• Demonstrated success helping hesitant or reserved children become confident, active contributors.

Working with us

This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $50 USD/hour, which equates to $100,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
