ASSISTANT RURAL CARRIER (ARC)

Work Schedule Scheduled Days: Saturday, Sunday and holidays observed by USPS as needed. During onboarding, ARCs must be available for training on weekdays. Hours vary. Driving Requirements Applicants should have a valid state driver’s license, a safe driving record and at least two years of unsupervised experience driving passenger cars or larger in the U.S. or its possessions or territories or U.S. military installations worldwide. A personal vehicle may be required. Salary Salary Range: $20.38 per hour, paid bi-weekly. Functional Purpose Using dynamic route descriptions, delivers packages on Sundays and observed holidays. May case, deliver, and collect mail and packages on Saturdays along a prescribed rural route using a vehicle. Postal Service employment is conditional upon meeting medical suitability, general eligibility, and background check requirements. Duties and Responsibilities Loads packages in delivery sequence in vehicle. Delivers packages to customers along a prescribed route. Sorts mail in delivery sequence for the assigned route. Receives and signs for accountable mail. Loads mail and packages in vehicle. Delivers mail and packages to customers along a prescribed route or as an auxiliary assistant by vehicle; collects monies and receipts for accountable mail; picks up mail from customers' roadside boxes. Furnishes routine information concerning postal matters to customers. Returns mail collected and undeliverable mail, submits monies and receipts to post office. Prepares appropriate time records. Provides for mail security at all times. May be required to provide a vehicle for delivery if an employer-provided vehicle is not assigned; will receive an Equipment Maintenance Allowance if own vehicle is used. Work is performed indoors and outdoors in all types of weather. May be required to load and unload trays and containers of mail and parcels weighing as much as 70 pounds. #J-18808-Ljbffr United States Postal Service
