An opportunity is available for an experienced pharmacy professional to serve as the interim Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist-in-Charge at a behavioral health hospital in Southern California. This contract role is based in Glendora, CA, within a 63-bed acute behavioral health facility with an average daily census of 62.

Location:

• Glendora, CA 91740

Schedule/Hours:

• Full-time, 40 hours per week
• Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Weekly on-call Monday through Thursday
• On-call coverage required on the first and last weekend of each month
• No weekend shifts required

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid California Pharmacist License
• Minimum 3 years of management experience in pharmacy operations
• Inpatient pharmacy experience, preferably in behavioral health settings
• Strong multitasking skills with the ability to oversee staff and manage multiple priorities

Responsibilities:

• Act as Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist-in-Charge
• Oversee staffing, scheduling, and on-call coordination
• Participate in meetings and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
• Manage medication error and adverse drug reaction investigations and documentation
• Place orders with AmerisourceBergen and manage long-acting injectable replacements
• Maintain collaboration with sister hospital pharmacy for after-hours coverage
• Supervise and support one full-time pharmacist and part-time technician
• Coordinate training with outgoing Director of Pharmacy during transition period

Systems Used:

• Cerner order entry system
• Omnicell automation

This assignment begins November 2nd and continues until a permanent Director of Pharmacy is hired, with the current director’s last day on November 4th, 2026. Orientation and training will be provided by the outgoing Director to ensure a smooth handover.
