Surgical Tech - Certified Surg Tech Profession: Surgical Tech Specialty: Open Heart Surgery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 10H Days w/ call Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years in complex open heart procedures License: Active state license required Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: Minimum of 2 years of primary scrubbing experience in complex open heart procedures Experience in a Level 1 trauma center preferred Description:The position involves working in a cardiovascular operating room.The surgical tech will be responsible for scrubbing in on complex cases.Typical cases include coronary artery bypass grafting, valve repairs, and aortic dissections.The surgical tech will assist in maintaining the sterile environment during surgeries.They will also be required to help second circulate the room when not scrubbing in.The team consists of nurses and surgical techs, with mutual support in their roles.On-call requirements exist on weeknights, weekends, and holidays, with schedules varying based on staffing needs.There will be opportunities to precept new staff and assist in other surgical areas as needed.A uniform will be provided, with designated locker facilities available for personal items.Overall, candidates should be adaptable and ready to participate actively in a fast-paced surgical environment.Pediatric congenital heart surgery experience is preferred but not mandatory.The surgical tech will require familiarity with electronic medical records software. #J-18808-Ljbffr Cynet Health
